THE TROY BAYLISS STORY: 2005
The 2005 season will see former World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss break his long time Ducati links with a move to the satellite Camel Honda Team, joining veteran Brazilian GP rider Alex Barros for the 2005 MotoGP World Championship.
"For me the switch from Ducati to Honda is a bigger change than coming from Superbikes to MotoGP," commented Troy. " But it is a challenge which I am ready to take on and it gives me a lot of motivation".
Full of challenges and never at home on his new ride, the season unfolded as a very difficult one for Troy. After an average first half season, news got worst when Troy injured his wrist while training on his motocross bike in Australia. Troy will then miss Motegui , his home race Phillip Island and eventually the rest of the season's races.
Troy Finished overall in 12th position in the championship.
